7 Things for June

Venti

Venti Comms Shrewsbury - 7 Things for June 2020

Last month, I abandoned tips and advice in favour of compiling listicles of seven things you might enjoy in lockdown. Here’s June’s offering – hope you like it!

Drink of the Month

Honey and fig sparkling cocktail by Angy's Tea Room

I love the sound of this Fig & Honey Sparkling Cocktail from Angy’s Tea Room. I suppose it wouldn’t matter what kind of bubbles you used, and I’m not sure about the apple cider bit, but I fancy a bit of a break from gin so will give it a whirl! Let me know if you try it too.

Word of the Month

Venti Comms word of the month June 2020We never know how much power we have to make a positive change in our lives or the world until we try. Never has that been more evident than this month, and I hope so much that we’ll be able to make this crucial and lasting change happen. We have to.

Recipe of the Month

Becca Spry’s Lighter Lemony Pasta and Spinach Bake. We still need our carbs.

Thought for the Month

Article of the Month

An epic riddle. An eccentric storyteller. A missing person. When a man vanishes in the wilderness, his family takes to the internet to find him, and a deadly hunt for hidden treasure spawns an online mystery (from Wired Magazine). PS: here are a few more great reads

Activity of the Month

Healthy eating. Ish. Ever since I discovered that Toblerone are making a limited edition Crispy Coconut version, I basically haven’t stopped eating it. Feeling the need for something a bit more wholesome, I’ve been making regular batches of Jamie’s Ultimate Flapjacks which use honey instead of golden syrup and are packed with nuts, seeds, cranberries and apricots. Along with these rosemary roasted almonds, they’re a great for snacks.

Random Thing of the Month

Wanderlust. I don’t know when we’ll be able to safely travel again, and what it’ll look like. Airline prices might go up, and we’re not yet sure how they’ll be organised for safety and some degree of social distancing. But I’m still building an unfeasibly large Pinterest board of future destinations. I’ve always been drawn to desert-y places and the Siwa Oasis is near the top of my list. Are you planning any travel this year or waiting to see how things unfold?

Anyway, that’s it for June (and don’t forget May! I forgot to share May) – hope you’re staying safe, well and relatively sane.
